Located in the heart of “Old Mt. Pleasant” is historic Shem Creek. The most picturesque waterway in the Lowcountry.  With Charleston’s local fishing and shrimping fleet docking close by,  the many waterfront restaurants have no problem serving up fresh seafood.  Know as “a seafood and water lover’s paradise” visitors will find plenty to do along the waterfront. From renting a kayak, taking a harbor tour or dinning on the deck at sunset, the creek has something for everyone.

To Shem Creek: Water Taxis depart from the Maritime Center in Downtown Charleston at :30 past the hour starting at 9:30am. Please inform crew you wish to visit Shem Creek. $20 round trip/ $15 one way.

From Shem Creek:Water Taxis depart from the floating dock at Shem Creek Park in Mt. Pleasant. Follow the signs to Water Taxi and look for the red flag. Must call before the top of the hour (:00min) to be picked up at :15min passed the hour. Example: To be picked up at 2:15pm you must call before 2pm.

Visitors and locals staying or living in the Mt. Pleasant area can take the Water Taxi directly to downtown Charleston.  Boats land at the Maritime Center next to Aquarium Wharf.
